Be a part of the first MS Pedal to the Metal A 1034 mile bike ride from Chicago to Boston to benefit The Accelerated Cure Project for Multiple Sclerosis MS Pedal to the Metal is a multi-state bicycle ride from Chicago to the Boston, MA office of Accelerated Cure Project for Multiple Sclerosis (MS), a nonprofit organization that is working to cure MS by determining its causes. This ride is spearheaded by Lauren Smith of Chicago, IL. Lauren’s father was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1996. Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic degradation of the central nervous system that often results in severe disability. While the medical community has known about MS for the past 150 years, the cause is still unknown and there is no known cure. It is this reason that Lauren has chosen to do all that he can to find a cure for his father’s disease. Lauren Smith and his team will collect sponsorships for their 1034-mile ride. The proceeds raised through pledges, sponsors and donations to MS Pedal to the Metal will benefit the Accelerated Cure Project for Multiple Sclerosis (www.acceleratedcure.org).
